George and Mary's gravestone at Maxstoke is shown in the thumbnail below. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the picture. Mary's burial record in the Maxstoke register is very faint but it is just possible to make out the words "Mary wife of George Cross was buryed Jan 3rd(?) 1725"
There is a record for a George Cross who was buried 10/07/1770 at Maxstoke - this is probably the second child.
The fifth child Joseph was buried October 29th 1722. The record says that Joseph is a child.
