Chateau d'Yville to Hinckley
We left Albert and Anick full of gratitude for what they had done and soon crossed over the Seine on the free ferry aiming for Jumièges where there are the ruins of a very large abbey. The two towers at the front are 46m high and the building is of a similar scale to Fountains Abbey near Ripon. It must have been magnificent before it was ruined in the Revolution.
Next we travelled to Honfleur for lunch walking around the town centre and viewing the wooden church in the centre. Tony W couldn't resist trying the frogs legs for his lunch. By 3pm it was time to travel on to Le Harve to catch the 5pm ferry. We arrived home at 1.30 in the morning, a little tired but having really enjoyed our historical pilgrimage.
