Humphrey succeeded his father in 1220 as Earl of Hereford, heriditary Constable of England. In 1236 he took over his mother's lands and became the Earl of Essex. After the death of Maud he married Matilda de Avenbury and had one child John. He supported Henry III against the Barons in 1263/4.
Maud D'Eu - was also known as Mathilde de Lusignan. She was the daughter of the Comte d'Eu.
