After the death of Eleanor, Humphrey married Joan de Quincy daughter of Robert de Quincy and Helen of Wales. Humphrey supported the Barons against Henry III in 1263/4 and was taken prisoner at the battle of Evesham on 4th August 1265. He was taken to Beeston Castle in Cheshire where he died in October 1265.
