ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Henry succeeded his brother William II "Rufus" as King of England in 1100.  He was crowned in Westminster Abbey on 5th August 1100 and was known as Henry I "Beauclerc".
Edith of Scotland adopted the name Matilda on her marriage to Henry.

Henry married secondly Adelisa de Louvain in the Royal Chapel at Windsor in 1121, after the death of Edith.  It is thought that he had at least 15 mistresses.
