BE IT BE KNOWN, that at the date hereunder written, the last Will and Testament of Giles Tanner of 2 Cambridge Terrace Staines Road Sunbury on Thames in the County of Middlesex retired Shopkeeper (formerly of Weston Birt in the County of Gloucester) deceased, who died on the 22nd day of January 1897 at 2 Cambridge Terrace aforesaid was proved and registered in the Principal Probate Registry of Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice, and that administration of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Albert Edward Tanner of Bridget Street Rugby in the County of Warwick Marble Mason and Aubrey Giles Tanner of the Duke of Cambridge Inn Grove Street in the City of Bath Innkeeper the sons the Executors named in the said will they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same.

The Will follows
I GILES TANNER of Weston Birt in the County of Gloucester Shopkeeper do hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary dispositions made by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament I appoint my sons Albert Edward Tanner and Aubrey Giles Tanner (hereinafter called my trustees) EXECUTORS AND TRUSTEES of this my Will I give devise and bequeath all my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever and all my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever unto and to the use of my wife Martha Tanner during her life without impeachment of waste And from and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the same real and personal estate or such part thereof as shall be in the possession of my said wife at the time of her decease unto my trustees or to the trustees or trustee for the time being of this my Will Upon trust to sell call in and convert the same into money or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and to stand possessed of the net proceeds to arise from such sale calling in and conversion and of any money then forming part of my personal estate Upon trust to pay and divide the same unto and equally between and among all my children share and share alike as tenants in common Provided always and I hereby declare that if any child or mine shall die in my lifetime leaving issue any of whom shall be living at my decease such issue shall take the share which their his or her deceased parent would have taken if living at my decease And if more than one in equal shares and if but one then to such one only Provided also and I hereby declare that if any grand child of mine entitled in expectancy to a share or interest under this my Will shall at my death be under the age of twenty one years my trustees shall invest the expectant share of each such minor with power to vary the investments thereof from time to time and the income thereof shall be applicable for his or her maintenance under the statutory provisions in that behalf IN WITNESS whereof I have hereto set my hand this twenty ninth day of July One thousand eight hundred and ninety two – GILES TANNER – signed and declared by the said Giles Tanner the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses – FRANCIS H PHILLIPS of Chippenham Wilts Solicitor – PERCY H ELLISON of Chippenham his Clerk
On the 16th day of March 1897 Probate of this Will was granted to Albert Edward Tanner and Aubrey Giles Tanner the executors
