The Will of William Tanner

In the name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me William Tanner of Colerne Carpenter and Wheelwright made this Thirteenth day of September One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fourteen first I direct all my just debts Funeral Expenses and the Costs and Charges of proving this my Will be paid by my Executors hereinafter named and subject thereto I give devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Sarah all my Freehold Lands and Houses for and during her life she my said wife keeping the same in Tenantable repair and after her decease I give and devise the same equally between my two Sons their heirs and assigns as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants I give and bequeath unto my two Sons the sum of Fifty pounds cash to be paid out of my personal Estate and I direct that the Interest and Income of the Residue of my said personal Estate shall be paid to my said wife during her life and after her death that the same Residue shall be divided equally between my said two Sons the same to be vested interests in them at my death though the possession thereof be deferred until the death of my said wife and I appoint my Brother Francis Tanner of Oxford and John Greenaway of Colerne aforesaid Gentlemen my Executors as witness my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid Wm Tanner SS signed sealed published and declared by the Testator William Tanner as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Wm Evans Solr Marshfield ... On the 4th August 1824 admon with the will annexed of the Goods and Chattels and Credits of William Tanner late of Colerne in the county of Wilts Carpenter and Wheelwright deceased was granted to Sarah Tanner Widow the Relict and the Residuary Legatee for life named in the said Will having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer Francis Tanner the Brother and one of the Executors named in the said Will survived but died without taking upon him the probate and execution of the said will and John Greenaway the other Executor having ...
