The Will of Charles Butler

The Last Will and Testament of me Charles Butler Carpenter of the Parish of Colerne in the County of Wilts
I hereby give unto Mr John Horne Farmer of Corsham amd Mr William May Shoemaker of Thickwood, in Trust, All my Property both real & Personal of every description. To be disposed of in the Following Manner
First that my Wife shall have for her use all the Rents, interest of Money of all my Property with all Goods & Chattels. For her Life
And after her Decease I hereby give unto Mary my daughter Wife of Thomas Williams A House and Garden Occupied by William Carter of Colerne and a Mortage for Sixty Pounds from Daniel Aust to me upon a House etc. To her and her Heirs and Assignes for Ever
Also I hereby give to Elijah Butler my Son A House and Garden in the Occupation of Thomas Kent in Colerne with the use of the Well of Water. Also half the Mortages on Four Cottages at Somerton for £100 from Maria Hinds to me. For him and his Heirs and Assignes for Ever
Also I hereby give to Martha my Daughter Wife of Giles Tanner All Those Two Tennements Occupied by Caleb Weeks and Daniel[?] Holder with their Gardens with the use of the Well in the said Parish of Colerne with a Small Field called Free Land Piece in the Occupation of the said Giles Tanner. For her and her Heirs and Assignes for Ever
Also I hereby give unto my Daughter Anna Butler All that House Garden Shop and Premises I now Occupy. Also All that House & Premises Occupied by Samuel May and a Mortage of £80 on a House etc. from Richard Aust Mason to me. To Her and her Heirs & Assignes for Ever
Also I hereby give to my Daughter Sarah Selina Butler All those Three Cottages Occupied by John Johnson Sarah Hancock and Catherine Mullings of Colerne. Also Ten Shares in the North Wilts Bank of Melksham. For Her and her Heirs and Assignes for Ever
Also I hereby give unto my Son Thomas Butler All those Three Cottages Occupied by Frederick Ricketts, Sarah Johnson, & Henry Rose with the Gardens adjoining in the Parish of Colerne. Also the other half of the Mortage on Four Cottages at Somerton for £100 from Maria Hinds to me. For him and his Heirs and Assignes For Ever
Also I hereby give unto my Children above named that shall be living after the Decease of my Wife (or their Children to receave their Parents Share) All that Mortage for £150 on Two Messuages No. 6 & 7 Davis Court[?] Parish of Lyncomb & Widcomb from Eliza Green to me. To be divided in Equal Shares
As Witness my hand this seventh day of November one Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Three
